Friends of Abandoned Pets (FOAP) is an independent non-profit organization in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. FOAP is sensitive to the plight of abandoned, homeless cats and dogs in our area, and are prepared to give our time and energy to help them. We are all volunteers.

Our reward is to see a frightened, often desperately thin, sometimes injured, homeless cat or dog blossom into a self-confident, happy pet in a loving home.

Since we do not have a building in which to house animals, they stay in temporary foster homes until a permanent adoptive home is found. FOAP is always in need of caring foster homes, who are willing to provide food, love, and shelter.

FOAP pays for veterinarian costs while they are under foster care. When an animal is adopted, we charge a reasonable fee to help recover some of the veterinarian costs.
